“Files” and the navels that followed.

“Files” was my build your over-size sail boat in the basement moment.  It was created for a Solo Exhibition at C.A.C.I. (Centro Accademico Canadese in Italia) for the month of May in 1983. The sculpture was brought into the room in eight pieces for the body plus the top of the base and the columns.  The stairs and walls and little portals were made on site. Once assembled and retouched it truly made one wonder how it actual got there.  Several years later, after completing “Open Sea” I returned to “Files” to take a mould.  From this  mould I then created  this series of plaster sculptures.  They are still waiting to be transformed into bronze or marble!
